Event Highlight: Summer Internship Program 2026: Visiting AstraZeneca (Hong Kong) and HSITP

Following the Opening Ceremony of HKLSS Life Sciences Summer Internship Program, this year’s interns visited AstraZeneca (Hong Kong) and the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP) in the Lok Ma Chau Loop on 17 June, gaining first-hand exposure to a global biopharmaceutical company and a regional innovation hub. The visit provided valuable insights into industry operations, the research commercialization ecosystem, and the unique collaborative advantages of the “One Zone, Two Parks” development model. Through guided tours and on-site presentations, interns developed a deeper understanding of industry practices in drug research and development, commercialization, and cross-boundary collaboration. They also explored the latest developments and opportunities in life sciences and innovation and technology across Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, broadening their perspectives on the future of the industry and the opportunities arising from its continued growth.
