Do you want to explore more about the life sciences/biotech industries in Hong Kong and Mainland China? Are you eager to gain first-hand, valuable insights through one-on-one meetings? If yes, this Scheme is for you!

The Mentorship Scheme 2023 is designed for life sciences and biotech students, aiming to equip them with workplace knowledge and soft skills, as well as the ability to network and make relevant connections.

Mentees will be able to

  • identify academic and career opportunities;
  • learn about biotech developments in Hong Kong and mainland China;
  • gain practical workplace knowledge;
  • understand latest I&T trends through visits; and
  • expand personal and professional networks.

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate life sciences students aged 18 or above.
  • Graduates with a non-life sciences background will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This GYM initiative pairs mentees in their first or second year of undergraduate study with HKLSS mentee/intern alums aged 30 and below. HKLSS makes sure that our young mentors are great enough to share their challenges and experience as young people, offering their mentees a “peer” lens to view their concerns, possible solutions, and career options.

HKLSS' objective is to encourage conversation, co-learning and well-being while simultaneously creating space for them to explore innovative and collaborative ways of solving issues they have been facing.

Applicants in their first or second year will automatically be considered for GYM.

Mentee Stories

HKLSS aims to select 60-70 mentees for this new cohort. However, the Society reserves the right to determine the final number of mentees.
